Back squat, deadlift, and bench press are foundational barbell lifts representing pure strength. They should be incorporated into any strength training program. However, functional fitness demands strength in additional movement patterns, prompting the inclusion of three more exercises (shoulder press, Pendlay row, and front squat).

Olympic lifting is key to the sport

While the back squat develops leg strength, the front squat better aligns with movements seen in training and competition (cleans, thrusters, jerks). Adding the front squat allows for specific pattern training while still targeting absolute strength.

How much time will this take?

This is a dedicated strength program in which you should expect to train for approximately 1 hour per session, 5 sessions per week. 

If you’d like to shorten the training, you can do the primary and secondary movement for each day and skip the accessory movements. Then the programming will take approximately 20 minutes per session.

How do I know that I'm ready?

If you want to gain strength and have the time to dedicate to this program, you’re ready! There’s no minimum strength requirement - as long as you can pick up a barbell, you’re good to go.

How long do I have access to the course?

How does lifetime access sound? After enrolling, you have unlimited access to this course for as long as you like - across any and all devices you own. The WODprep coaching platform is specifically designed to work on mobile phones, iPads, Laptops, and Computers!

Does the Raw Strength Calculator take age into account when creating my results? What if I am a Masters Athlete?

The Raw Strength Calculator does not take age into account with regards to the specific recommended goal weights BUT that does not mean that it’s not accurate at identifying your weakest two lifts.

The Programs themselves are all RPE  (rate of perceived exertion)  based. So they are inherently designed for all age groups and levels of athletes.

We use RPE through the programming and specifically chose RPE so that all athletes of all levels and ages are able to get a similar (identical) stimulus using the program
