WODprep Strategy Top Tips:
Trying to improve your Dubs? Then this workout is for you. Starting with 50 DUs and then descending, this is a great challenge to see if you can hold your form AND go unbroken.
Ensure you have a consistent and efficient double-under technique. Practice your double-unders to minimize trip-ups. If you’re not proficient at double-unders, consider scaling to single-unders to maintain intensity. With single unders, double the number of reps to get the same volume. So, you would go; 100, 80, 60, 40, 20.
Break Down Reps:
Divide the workout into manageable sets. Since the rep scheme decreases (50-40-30-20-10), consider breaking it down like this:
- 25, 25 Double-Unders / 20, 20, 10 Sit-ups
- 20, 20 Double-Unders / 15, 15, 10 Sit-ups
- 15, 15 Double-Unders / 15, 15 Sit-ups
- 20 Double-Unders / 10, 10 Sit-ups
- 10 Double-Unders / 10 Sit-ups
For the double-unders, focus on staying relaxed in your shoulders and wrists. Keep a steady rhythm, and avoid rushing. Remember, fast is slow; slow is fast. Aim to complete each set with as few breaks as possible. If you’re proficient at double-unders, aim to go unbroken in each set.
The sit-ups are an opportunity to catch your breath. Maintain a steady pace, but don’t push too hard here, as it’s easy to burn out your core muscles. Find a rhythm that allows you to transition back to double-unders efficiently.
