WODprep Strategy Top Tips:
Warm-up (5-7 minutes):
We’re looking at a mix of pressing and running today. Getting our shoulders ready with some scapular pushups, plank holds, and negative descents will have us ready to go.
As for the runs, using a dynamic warmup of hip and leg-driven movements will help get your legs ready for some mileage.
Stimulus:
Upper body pushing fatigue with elevated heart rate from runs.
Strategy:
Today is a good mix of developing skills and pushing the pace. Keep it moving and aim for unbroken or big sets on the handstand push-ups and recover on the runs.
Actively shake your arms out on the runs, and once you get into a good pace, see if you can push.
Strict Handstand Push-ups:
The kipping handstand push-up is much more about timing and rhythm. Ensure a stable descent before you bring your legs down, and drive hard to get your body back to lockout.
Think of your legs like a wall ball, which has a slight arc away from the wall, but quickly gets back to the wall for your lockout.
