WODprep Strategy Top Tips:
Goal is to keep every round consistent for the entire workout.
Pacing:
- Approach the workout with a sustainable pace from the beginning. Consistency is key, so avoid starting too fast and burning out early.
- Divide the workout into manageable sections, focusing on completing each movement efficiently. Write down how you’re going to break it up before you start the workout.
Double Unders:
- Break the 75 double unders into manageable sets to avoid fatigue. For example, break them into sets of 25 or 30 with short rest intervals.
- Focus on maintaining a smooth and controlled rhythm to conserve energy.
Handstand Walks:
- Break the 50ft handstand walk into shorter distances if needed, especially if handstand walking is a challenging skill.
- Prioritize balance and control over speed to avoid falling and wasting valuable time.
So you can kick up into a handstand and take your first few steps. What next? How do you progress to walking farther and performing the handstand walk under fatigue? Check out this video for my top 3 advanced drills…
